Important Message from the Axis Elite board of Directors

Good Evening Axis Family,

On behalf of the Axis Board of Directors and staff, we pray that everyone has been safe and healthy during the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020. We have been meeting on a regular basis to monitor the impact of the pandemic on our sport and especially to the welfare and safety of our club members. The reason for this announcement is to update everyone on our current status for the remainder of 2020 and for the upcoming club season into 2021.

Extending the Temporary Suspension

Collectively, we have decided to extend the temporary suspension of the following club programs for this upcoming 2020/2021 volleyball seasonAll Stars - youth developmental, Non Travel, Clinics, Open Tryouts, and Travel Teams, excluding the possibility of a top performance team or two. We want everyone to know this was an extremely difficult and heart wrenching decision to make after 8 gratifying and rewarding years of providing some of the most innovative volleyball training programs in the area. The Covid-19 pandemic has greatly impacted our ability to secure adequate training facilities. Also, we feel that regulatory restrictions, league protocol, and increased operating expenses have made it impossible for us to conduct volleyball training in a reasonably safe and secure environment for all of our coaches, athletes, and families.

Expressing Our Thanks

All of us at Axis Elite Volleyball Academy want to express our thanks for allowing us the blessing of training your children during the previous volleyball club seasons. We have had the opportunity to work with some amazing coaches, players, and families during the years at Axis.  We wish nothing but the best for each of you and your families. Please feel free to reach out to us for any help or referrals for volleyball training programs that may be operating during the pandemic.  We would be happy to help in any way we can. For those who elected to use their 2019/2020 season shortened credit toward 2021 fees or clinics, you will be issued a refund for the credited amount. This should be finalized and refund checks issued in the next couple weeks.

The Greatest Coaching Staff

To our coaches, we especially wanted to thank you for your time and tireless devotion to our athletes and our program. You have been the catalyst for making Axis Elite Volleyball Academy one of the most progressive and best training programs in the area. More importantly, you all have become lifelong friends and family. We will be eternally grateful for those memories and relationships. You have been great ambassadors of the sport and we are proud of the numerous projects you have led in serving our community. Each has embraced the foundation of our club program, which was to serve God, empower our athletes, teach the game with passion, and find ways to give back to our community.  Because of you, we have been successful in elevating the sport of volleyball in South Carolina and providing numerous athletes with opportunities to play at the next level. For those who wish to continue coaching during the pandemic, we offer our prayers and support each of your decisions. If we can help provide assistance, please feel free to reach out to one of us directors.

Papa Ed

On a lighter and final note, we are pleased to announce that “Papa” Ed Adkins will be assuming a new role moving forward. Ed has accepted a full-time position with FCA Sports and will be stepping away from his duties with Axis Elite Volleyball Academy. He will be fulfilling a lifelong dream of providing sports ministry to all sports programs affiliated to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. We will greatly miss his leadership and the tremendous role Papa Ed has played in building the foundation and development of the Axis Elite Volleyball program. It is his faith, as a follower of Christ, which has led to this opportunity and we are excited for Ed in his new role with FCA Sports.

Moving Forward

In the meantime, please send any correspondence regarding Axis Elite to Joe, Korrinn or Mike.  We will try to get you a response as quickly as possible. We ask for your patience during this time as we convert some our systems to reflect these changes.

We will continue to monitor the Covid-19 pandemic and send updates or changes as they arise. We wish everyone a safe and healthy 2021.  May God bless and protect everyone.

Ed, Joe, Korrinn, and Mike
